Maile Meloy

Maile Meloy is the author of two novels, Liars and Saints and A Family Daughter, two short story collections, Half in Love and Both Ways is the Only Way I Want It (named one of the 10 Best Books of 2009 by the New York Times), and a bestselling middle grade trilogy. Her fiction has won The Paris Review’s Aga Khan Prize for Fiction, the PEN/Malamud Award, and the Rosenthal Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and has been shortlisted for the UK’s Orange Prize. She is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, and in 2007, she was chosen as one of Granta’s Best American Novelists under 35. Her stories have been published in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, Granta, and Zoetrope: All-Story, and Best American Short Stories 2015.  Her essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New Yorker, O, The Oprah Magazine, and Slate.
